Networking sites are fun, enjoyable and interesting. Many people go on sites like Facebook and Twitter everyday to socialize with friends, but sometimes people who you do not can access your profile. That is a reason why you need to protect your privacy on networking sites from people you do not know. It is important to protect your information from people you do not because they will be able to access it and might be able to know where you live or what you do. I guess everyone does not what a stranger to contact them and maybe visit their home. Advertisers and telemarketers can get your information and bother you to buy a product. That can happen if you do not protect your information. There are also people who can hack other peoples' profile and can steal ones' identity. One thing you can do is to not put any personal information like your address and age on networking sites. Another thing you can do is setup privacy settings. Many networking sites have privacy settings for you to choose who can see your profile and who cannot. No one wants a stranger to know where you live or how old you are. Just remember to not put personal information and to setup privacy settings. It is better to be safe than sorry.
I agree with Brandon that privacy is very important. But sometimes we cant help that our information leaks because if we have 13 year old kids that make facebook they might think its okey to put where they live and what school they go to. That is why now the crime rates have gone up because of social networking websites such as facebook.
